St. Pat's

I drove east on Dublin Blvd
in the darkness before dawn
I listened to swing town
through the static and the forecast
until its signal was overpowered
and another took its place,
droning about a passage.

I pulled my wheel left at the stop sign
a u turn was made and headed west
so much more to be explored
once the sun spills out
across the sky and land
I listen to so far away
and head for home

I exit and walk to hear
the sound of wind through the trees
that I never counted before today
seven evergreens and two leafy?
on each end here - the place I call home
for another fortnight or so

Where to roam next, big sky?
Still dark, the stars answer back
as far as universe is, there I roam
and you are with me in my heart though
we have never met in this physical world
we carry each other, as the songs go
in our centre, our hearts, minds, spirits.
We are all of us one life singing to us
for us, with us, of us, in us.

Vacation@home and away!

real well
And this is the longest time off I've had since starting with TMo a few years ago.
I will break up the break with a few hours of court required class for divorcing parents Wednesday evening. Plans are to head out for Leadville sometime, then Evergreen, not away from home for too long or else kitties could starve :)! Maybe we'll stop and see some dino tracks along the way and do a mine tour. Pool party Friday, come on over!

Started cleaning/rearranging futons/what goes where, hope to have that mostly settled by the time work starts again next Tuesday.

Got to view all the Firefly I could from Netflix, liked it so much I made the icon from a sentiment I could definitely relate to regarding the end of marriage #2.

Pai-chang went up into a hall. When the assembly had gathered, he drove them out all at once with his staff. Then he called to the crowd. When they turned their heads, he said: “What is it?”

It has happened.
Someone on facebook has inquired if I worked for the LAPD in the 90s. I replied No, and I think that person goes by Timothy and has a middle initial as well. It turns out she was asking since she has a class project she has to research.

and now for a page a day quote:

Siddhartha had often heard all this before, all these numerous voices in the river, but today they sounded different . . . They all belonged to each other: the lament of those who yearn, the laughter of the wise, the cry of indignation and the groan of dying . . . and all the voices, all the goals, all the pleasures, all the good and evil, all of them together was the world.

Yes indeed. The van from black is running still! Gets 20-30 mpg, couldn't possibly put it into clunkers/cash, besides not wanting to look at something new and a new run of payments, I identify with the old thing and hope I don't have to ever part with it even if it does stop running.

Listening to...KRCC, the band who did its my life? Talk talk on my new Equinox phone, it has stereo FM built in - just have to use the wired headset, oh well, can't be perfect bluetooth freedom all the time.

Hoping for more time off around thanksgiving for a all in family reunion.

Spoke with my childhood friend from Steamboat, he'd been wanting to call for months and never had the time/opportunity. Does that ever happen to you too? I've been waiting/not calling a classmate for quite a while...for me its 2nd/3rd/4th/5th thoughts that make me more uncertain each time I even remotely consider calling.

Someone asked Master Yun-men, “What is the most urgent phrase?”

The Master said, “Eat!”

Birth is not one act; it is a process. The aim of life is to be fully born, though its tragedy is that most of us die before we are thus born. To live is to be born every minute. Death occurs when birth stops. Physiologically our cellular system is in a process of continual birth; psychologically, however, most of us cease to be born at a certain point.

Now puzzling over the latest firmware update from Linksys for our router....not thinking much of it so far.
Soon - GttTday, goodbye to the teeth day, has arrived. 10 hours left. Made cookies for the team, snickerdoodle and oatmeal raisin.
Earlier - (last week) fell while trying to put weight on a shower bar painting the bathroom at the wife's.  Lots o' blue to be cleaned up and a trophy scab & swollen ankle to boot. Got to see fireworks from my window at work on the 4th, got  2x pay for taking 9 calls I think.
Later - 30th HS reunion (next Friday is all the time I can take off) - to go or not to go. Depends mostly on the mouth's healing process.
